Empowering Youth to Lead
Empower’s Youth program empowers high school students to lead peer-to-peer education initiatives, visiting elementary and junior high classrooms to teach their younger peers about prevention, healthy choices, and mental health.
Program Highlights
Interactive Presentations: High school students lead engaging presentations on prevention topics, encouraging younger students to make healthy decisions.
Discussion & Games: The program includes thought-provoking discussion questions and interactive games to help reinforce important lessons.
Incentives: Students have the opportunity to win prizes for active participation, making learning fun and engaging.
Impact
During the 2023-2024 school year, 57 Empower students reached 677 junior high and upper elementary students through 27 presentations across five schools, promoting healthy choices and fostering peer leadership.
